On August 22, the Class of 2008 participated in a Mini Career Day. The guest speakers were Mrs. Nicole Duffy and Mrs. Cristina Duffy, daughters of Mr. Larry Duffy, corporate board member of Baldwin School.
Nicole Duffy graduated from Baldwin School in 1984. She attended Princeton University for a year and joined the Joffrey Ballet, a renowned ballet company in New York. Nicole danced in the company until the late 1990’s and returned to school to finish her bachelor’s degree from Columbia University. She also pursued J.D.
Christina attended Baldwin School until 11th grade. She attended Princeton University and received a bachelor’s degree in 1990. Christina also danced professionally. She studied at the postgraduate level at Cambridge University where she earned a masters degree and later on completed a J.D. from Yale University.
The conference was very interesting since both Nicole and Christina encouraged our seniors to pursue their dreams. The students were amazed at the array of opportunities that a person encounters as life goes by. It was clearly demonstrated that nowadays a person can combine different disciplines as long as he/she keeps his/her focus on achieving higher education. One must dream big, follow that dream and never stop learning. Thank you, Nicole and Christina for sharing your knowledge with the Class of 2008 and for inspiring them!
