Baldwin School has six Presidential Scholar Candidates
We are very proud to inform that Baldwin School has six Presidential Scholar candidates. This is the highest number of candidates from schools on the island. Each year 2600 candidates of the nearly 2.8 million high school seniors in the nation receive this invitation based on their total SAT or ACT scores.
Candidates will now have to complete a very thorough application that a review committee will evaluate in February. They will judge the candidates based on their academic achievement, personal characteristics, leadership and service activities, and the quality and content of essays that they will write to determine who will become semi-finalists and ultimately who will be chosen as Presidential Scholars. 121 students will be honored in June as Presidential Scholars and they will travel to Washington D.C. to receive this special recognition in the White House. We are very hopeful that one of them will be a Baldwin student.
We congratulate our 2008 Presidential Scholar candidates and we wish them much success in this competition.
