Alumni Boston Reunion Turn-Out Leaves Us Speechless!
No words can express the joy felt at October’s Alumni Boston Reunion at TGI Friday’s! In all, 23 alums from a range of graduating classes attended the activity. Without a doubt this has been our best turn-out yet, evidence that organizing reunions abroad are very important to Baldwin Alumni.
One of the highlights of the reunion was when some of the more mature members of the crowd shared their Baldwin School memories with the younger attendees. The more recent alums listened appreciatively and, in turn, shared their own experiences. Baldwin seemed to be the magic glue that allowed everyone to bond so effortlessly. I enjoyed seeing this kind of support and social rapport between the alumni, and it turned out to be such an enjoyable experience that I couldn’t leave without promising to be back next year!!
One of the primary goals of these reunions is to enhance the Mentoring Program we are trying to establish in different cities throughout the U.S. Those who attended the Boston Reunion will shortly receive by e-mail the contact e-mails of those who were present so that they can keep in touch and hopefully coordinate other mini reunions for themselves. In addition, each received an Information Card with the names of four Baldwin Alums (Fernando Alonso ’87, Liesl Sitton ’92, Zaira Alonso ’92, and Yamil Suarez ’93) that have been residing in Boston for several years now. They have volunteered as members of the Mentoring Program to be available to our more recent alums residing in Boston. Whether it is an emergency phone call, or just a question about moving to a new city, these individuals are willing to help out any Baldwin alum who needs their assistance. We are all here for each other and we should take advantage of the opportunities this situation allows for.
