Andrea Calem '75 (June 2008) - I'm a labor and employment lawyer, practicing in Washington, D.C. Married with two kids.
Victoria Leone Smith '75 (June 2008) - Before I say anything, I must say that the years I spent at Baldwin prepared me well for the exciting life that I have been able to lead. Baldwin not only prepared us for future educational opportunities, it prepared us for leadership and developed our creativity. More than anything, Baldwin empowered us. Being such a small school, if we wanted a Yearbook, we had to be on the Yearbook committee. If we wanted a Student Council, we had to run as Officers. The same went for all our sports teams. They couldn't exist if we didn't show up for practice. In turn, I have learned the value of empowering others and it has directed my career and my life. Thank you Baldwin! Education/Experience:Master's Degree in Instructional Design Technology with Specialization in Military, Government & Corporate Training Development.BS in Education and certified in English for Second Language Speakers (ESL)
Social/Volunteer Organizations: Boy Scout Leader- 3 years, Girl Scout leader- 11 years, Student Council Sponsor- 4 years, Youth Crime Watch of America Sponsor- 3 years, Community Science Fair Chair- 4 years, Yearbook Sponsor- 2 years, School Newspaper Sponsor- 3 years, Humane Society- Foster Family
Theater Usher- 8 years.

Amazing that it’s been 30 years already, yikes!!! Hugs to everyone.

Yolanda Quesada Viramontes ’77 (November 2007) I have three incredible children…one is actually an adult now. Jeremy is 27 years old and is a theatrical actor, Writer and Drama teacher. He is the son of Cary Watkins, class of 1978. Jeremy is the spitting image of his dad!!! My two other children are Daniel 13 and Sarah 11, both very bright students and all of them are the loves of my life! I live in Southern California still and have and will always be a Californian. Life is good! I have the one same belief; life is too short so “LIVE, LOVE and LAUGH.” I am sorry to hear about Mike Goggins, my brother Bernie (class of 1976) was a good friend of his. We had some really great times hanging out in Dorado del Mar. Football games on the golf course, the club pool, going to San Juan dancing, hanging our in Bernie’s room and of course pizza at the 19 th hole! I would love to hear from any alumni. Please write to me at viramontes05@yahoo.com.
Joyce Carter Moore (would've been '76) - (Aug. 2007): I attended Baldwin School (8th grade) in 1971-1972. At that time, the highest grade level in the school was the 9th grade. Baldwin was adding a grade a year until it reached the 12th grade. I was a cheerleader and Ms. Levy was our advisor. I took yoga with Jessica Braswell (my daughter, Jessica, is named for this gentle lady). Her husband, Jeff Braswell taught me algebra. Mrs. Builder was my English teacher. Ed Walters taught me science and psychology. Jeff Klein and Rick Figueroa were my PE teachers. Mrs. Darmanin taught me social studies and sex education. Even though I was at Baldwin for only a year, the time there had a great influence on my life. The faculty there encouraged me to grow and not to accept limitations based on my age or my grade level. Their support helped me to gain the confidence to try new things and to expect to succeed.
I married right after high school and did not return to college until 1992. I studied computer science and computer engineering. I currently work for a software vendor called Misys Healthcare Systems as an implementation specialist. I have had several career paths. I stayed at home with my 3 kids until my youngest was about 3. I have worked as a claims processor for a major insurance carrier, I administered the medical contract for the United States Secret Service, I have worked for physician offices, owned my own revenue cycle consulting business and now I finally have my traveling job. I am on the road (or flying) about every week to a new client site.
I don't really have time to volunteer these days but in the past have volunteered for the Red Cross and for church activities. I was actively involved with a divorce/separated support group for the last couple of years when I was living in Raleigh, NC. I just relocated to the Seattle, WA area about a month ago and with my work schedule, have not really had time to become involved with any social or volunteer organizations in this area.
Lavoy Carter (would've been '77) - (Aug. 2007): I attended Baldwin School in 7th grade (1971-72). Although I didn't graduate from Baldwin, some of my best memories of Puerto Rico revolve around my experiences there. Jeff Braswell was my homeroom teacher - it seems like most of the teachers were 'hippies' back then. It was a wonderful year!
I graduated from the University of South Carolina with a degree in Journalism. After five years of working in radio and television, I made the jump to education. I taught French and Spanish at a private school on John's Island, SC and later earned my Masters degree in education from Francis Marion University in Florence, SC.
Steve McIldowie last year attended 1978, would have graduated 1979 (May 2007) I attended Baldwin from 1975 (freshman year) to 1978 (junior year) then moved back to Connecticut for my senior year. If any of you are reading this, please feel free to email me at: (treasuressol@sbcglobal.net). I have been married since 1999. I owned my own delicatessen from 1998 through 2005. Now, I own my own eBay business called Treasures Sold Online. I provide the service of selling items on eBay for the general public.

Anke Meyer (Tracy) ’76 (April 2007) Having just returned from my 25th wedding anniversary vacation, I received an email from Jack Lee telling about the Baldwin website. It’s always great to get a blast from the past and would love to get together and see everyone again. After graduating from Baldwin, I attended Rider University (and the University of Madrid for one year). After graduation, I immediately started working for Merck and have been there ever since. Along the way I got married and had two wonderful kids. My son is a senior at the University of Pittsburgh (and he is the school mascot – the Panther), and my daughter is a freshman at the University of Delaware. It’s hard to believe we are empty nesters already, but we are healthy and enjoying life as a couple again.
Jack Levy ’76 (March 2007) After graduating in 76, I worked in my family’s business and went to school nights until 1987 when I moved to Florida. Rob Gilsdorf ’77 – (July 2006) “I have been very active in our local community over the last 10 years serving on the local Appoquinimink Board of Education as well as serving a term on the Delaware State Board of Education. I have been active as a board member and executive committee member of the Austin Society of Delaware the last three years. My youngest child, Andrew, is autistic and we have been very active working to change the social supports for Andrew and his peers. My daughter is entering her sophomore year at the University of Delaware where she is studying to become an athletic trainer. My wife Judi works hard to support all of our family activities which take on an added dimension with Andrew’s disability and our hectic schedule.
I have been working for DuPont for 25 years and currently sell industrial chemicals for them. I work from home which gives me plenty of flexibility to enjoy life. I am an avid cyclist (ride about 2,000 miles per year). I also like to hunt fish and garden when I am not busy with other activities. I am currently running for an elected office here in Delaware. I am seeking election to the New Castle County Council. The election is 15 weeks away (November 7th) and we have a fully organized and active campaign. It keeps me very busy meeting constituents and attending public meetings!
As for other Baldwin alumni I have kept track of Al Beaulieu and his sister Debbie. Al was in the class of ’77 with me and he currently lives in Chicopee, MA. I also kept track of Mike Goggins (class of 1976). Unfortunately, Mike passed away late last year from lung cancer. I hope all is well at Baldwin…many great memories of high school remain…it was great being young in paradise!
Regards, Rob

Thanks to the latter, all our free time currently is spent cheering at baseball tournaments.”
