Día Puertorriqueño 2015

Baldwin will be celebrating Día Puertorriqueño on Thursday, November 19 and Friday, November 20, 2015.  

 

Middle & Upper School:

The theme for MUS students is "Puerto Rico's Link with the Americas". Each class is studying a Latin American country and will give a special presentation in the VPAC on Thursday, November 19th, from 1:00pm - 3:00pm. Parents are invited to enjoy this performance. Students will also present an exhibition in the lobby of the theater and will remain throughout the following day.

On Friday, November 20th, MUS students will have kiosks available outside of the VPAC during the OECC & Elementary performances until 11:00am.

 

OECC & Elementary School:

The theme for OECC and Elementary students is “Puerto Rican Treasures”.  Students will be representing our natural resources, geography, festivals and music in their performances.

OECC & Elementary student performances will begin at 9:00am on Friday, November 20th. After that time, entrance to the theatre will be restricted until the first intermission at approximately 9:30am.  If your child is participating in the first group, please make sure to be seated in the theatre no later than 9:00am.

The activity will begin with the following groups and proceed as follows:

9:00-9:30

  • Kinder
  • Second Grade
  • Pre-Pre-Kinder
  • Pre-Kinder

INTERMISSION (10 minutes)

9:40 to end of activity

  • 1st Grade
  • 4th Grade
  • 5th Grade
  • 3rd Grade

Elementary Students will be returning to their homeroom after they have performed. Parents are asked to pick up their child from their homeroom during Intermission. The Elementary dismissal will be around 10:30am. 

There will also be areas set up where you can sample traditional Puerto Rican cuisine and purchase arts and crafts from some of our local artists.
