Preschool Program at The Baldwin School of Puerto Rico

Hello! My name is...

Laura Maristany

Director of Studies/Diploma Program Coordinator

25 years at Baldwin School

Any issues or hobbies that you are passionate about?

I am passionate about education!I love what I do every day, and I was one of the lucky ones who found her calling at an early age in life: I knew I wanted to be a teacher since I was in third grade with Mrs. Pullen, an inspirational teacher who taught me to love school and learning. My work gives meaning to my life each day, and I have always been devoted to my career because I am a firm believer in the words of Aristotle: “All who have meditated on the art of governing mankind have been convinced that the fate of empires depends on the education of the youth.”

If you could have anyone as your teacher, who would you pick?

I would pick the Dalai Lama. I admire his teachings and I had the incredible opportunity to be on a plane with him once. I could not believe that he was riding in coach!!!! This is a man who truly practices what he preaches and for the me this is very admirable. William Shakespeare would be my second choice!!! He's my other idol.
