This year our advanced French students group had an opportunity for the second year in a row, to be part of the already famous “Voyage d’immersion en France”, led by French Teacher, Paola Marchena. This trip is intended to provide a full immersion experience to those junior year students who already have at least 3 years in the Baldwin French program and that feel ready to prove their language proficiency. This year, they lived with French host families in the beautiful southern city of Toulouse for 11 days, where they attended advanced conversational French classes, went on field trips with students from a local private school, and enjoy the simplicity of living the daily routine of a French teenager. During the last 3 days, they discovered the wonders of the City of Lights -Paris, visited its most famous landmarks, rode bikes around the picturesque quartiers, and tasted its world famous gastronomy. There is a certain sense of satisfaction that these students experienced by facing the important challenge of proving their knowledge and adapting to a very different culture. Our community cheerfully acknowledges this important achievement of acquiring a third language.
