The International Day of Peace was established in 1981 by the United Nations as an annual observance of global non-violence and ceasefire. Every year, people in all parts of the world honor peace in various ways on 21 September.
At Baldwin we observed a minute of silence, planted a tree for peace as part of the global campaign of planting 100,000 trees on that day, and placed a Peace Pole on campus.
