IB Coordinators traveled to ATL

As ongoing preparation for our programs in the Innovation Center, Baldwin IB Coordinators, Janelle Mendez (PYP) Gregorio Vazquez (MYP) and Laura Maristany (DP) along with teachers, Evimar Santiago (5th grade) and Monica Cerame (MYP Art/Design) traveled to Atlanta, GA to interact with several schools, engage with their design labs, and learn how these spaces enhance student learning, teaching methodologies, and the curriculum.

Jane Simpkin, Innovation Coach and Program Coordinator at the Atlanta International School (AIS) facilitated the visit during which BWN faculty and staff attended workshops and expanded their thinking in maker-spaces and design labs at AIS, Georgia Tech University, and the Westminster School. The visit also included discussion with designers at the Georgia Aquarium and a visit to the Berlin Wall piece located on the AIS campus.

This unique collaboration with the Atlanta International School is one of the early partnerships to strengthen our school and the Center for Research and Innovation at Baldwin here in Puerto Rico.
