Puerto Rico Metropolitan Science Fair

The Puerto Rico Metropolitan Science Fair is a competition driven to promote scientific research among students from different schools in Puerto Rico (both public and private). This year more than 350 middle and high school projects presented their findings. The following Baldwin student received special distinguishments in the award ceremony held last March 12 in La Sala Sinfónica de Bellas Artes.

Malena Cabassa Goyco '26 & Sophia Mojena '26 - NOAA's 2023 Taking the Pulse of the Planet award - The award recognizes outstanding projects in the ocean, coastal, Great Lakes, weather, and climate sciences. NOAA grants the award to students whose research emphasizes NOAA’s mission to understand and predict changes in Earth’s environment and conserve natural resources.
- 3rd place in the High School Environmental Science category.

Dolly Pramoda ' 24 & Chili Pramoda '26 - United States Air Force Certificate of Achievement in science fair project.
- The Yale Science and Engineering Association's award for the most outstanding exhibit in STEM.
USAID's Science Champion Award for using science in an innovative manner to create a potential solution to international development challenges.
- Ricoh Sustainable Development Award for research that has demonstrated the principles and technical innovations that offer the greatest potential for sustainable development.

- First place in the High School Environmental Engineering category.

- Invitation to join the PR delegation to ISEF in Dallas TX (May13-19) and compete in the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair. This place convenes ~1,800 such presenters from ~80 countries.
