Baldwin's Club Juventud Política hosts Gubernatorial Candidate Forum

On Tuesday, October 11, 2016 Baldwin School hosted its 2nd Gubernatorial Candidates Forum. Club Juventud Política brought together students from schools around the island, and the candidates for Governor of Puerto Rico for this historic event.

Student representatives from Baldwin School, Academia San José, Colegio Marista, Escuela University Gardens, Tasis School Dorado, St. John’s School, American Military Academy, Colegio Radians, Academia del Perpetuo Socorro, and Escuela Josefa Del Rio Guerrero de Morovis presented their questions to each of the candidates for an open and respectful dialogue surrounding issues such as the economic crisis, crime, and migration of Puerto Ricans to the U.S.

This event was organized by the Senior class members of our Club Juventud Polítca. They did an excellent job and we congratulate them! We also thank all of those who supported this event: the teachers and staff who worked over the long weekend; the students who sang, played the piano, greeted, presented, and asked questions to the candidates; the art students and teachers who made the parting gifts for the candidates; the A/V Directors and A/V Club members for providing excellent light, sound, and video; all of the students who attended this event.

Working together, our community had an opportunity to hear young people’s concerns and listen to the candidates responses in a safe and respectful environment.
