A few months ago, the 4th graders learned about environmental issues facing water locally and worldwide, and were inspired to learn more about topics such as water scarcity and water contamination. Students worked on letters to people they admire, and a few of the students wrote letters to President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama explaining what they had learned in class, and showing their concern for water issues faced by many countries around the world. On Monday, the 4th grade students received a pleasant surprise: a letter back from the White House! We are very proud of our students' efforts and are happy to know they are being heard!
