Siona and Meghna Pramoda attended the global finals of the Conrad Challenge this year. The event consisted of a Power Pitch (8 minutes of prepared remarks + 20 minutes of Q&A with a panel of judges, all in an auditorium full of fellow contestants and other members of the public). Following that, they had a chance to present our business plan for Xena Airways on the topic of Sustainable Aviation - Algorithmic routing for fuel use reduction by airlines. Outside of the learning and the inspiration from meeting fellow teens keen on using their ideas to build businesses, they were excited to share that they also won the "Most Persuasive" expo participants award.
Chili and Dolly met a middle school finalist team that came in with a solution for gum disease. 950 teams from 50 countries started this year's competition with complete submissions --> 521 innovators --> 20 finalists. It's Chili and Dolly's hope that more of Baldwin students choose to participate in the Conrad Challenge in the coming years.
