⛵️ Roger Casellas ‘24 is representing The Baldwin School, among other 76 institutions that compose the South Atlantic Interscholastic Sailing Association, in the first high school sailing laser regatta series of the year, seeking a spot to qualify for the National high school single-handed boat Championship and placing Baldwin School in the top ten schools in the Association. Just before this, Roger competed in the 2023 “US Youth Championships”, taking home a 3rd place in the “First Year Sailing Youth Champs” division in the ILCA 6 class, the largest and most competitive fleet at this year’s event.

The U.S. Youth Championship, also known as the “Youth Champs”, is USA’s pinnacle youth regatta, featuring the top sailors and most challenging performance boats. This year’s event commemorated its 50th anniversary and was the largest ever Youth Championship, with the participation of 270 sailors, from 9 countries. For more than 157 sailors, 2023 was their first year appearance at this regatta.
