Dear Baldwin Community,
On behalf of the faculty, staff, administration and Board of Directors, I am proud to announce that over the holiday break, we received word of our authorization as an International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program, the first such fully authorized program in the history of Puerto Rico.
I want to personally recognize the considerable efforts of the Middle and Upper School faculty, staff, and administration. Authorization is no small thing. Our adults have been working at it for four years, honing their pedagogy and assessment. Frankly, their efforts are equal to that of achieving a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction at a world class university, all while working full-time to meet the diverse needs of our students. Our faculty are now fully recognized for their commitment to advancing education so as to ensure the next generation is well-prepared to take on the significant challenges facing our world; that these students will do so as compassionate, ethical, and thoughtful adults that seek to make the world a more peaceful place.
We are now fully authorized in the International Baccalaureate Primary Years and Middle Years Programs, PPK-grade 10. We will soon achieve this status in the Diploma Program, making us the first full-continuum school in the history of Puerto Rico, one of a few in the entire Caribbean basin, and among truly elite company world-wide.
