On Thursday, September 1, the senior economics students spent a couple of hours at the Centro para Una Nueva Economía, directed by Baldwin alumni Mike Soto. As the premier think tank in Puerto Rico, CNE makes nonpartisan policy recommendations to improve the economy of Puerto Rico and the lives of its citizens. The students discussed Puerto Rico's economic situation with senior policy director Sergio Marxuach and research director Deepak Lamba-Nieves. The visit comes as the culmination of an eight-month study of macroeconomics. The diploma economics course covers the content of a first-year university-level course.
