What a way to kick-off MUS “La Semana de PR” than with veteran Puerto Rican musician and BWN grandfather “El rey del bajo”, Bobby Valentín. Valentín, known as one of those responsible for the development and rise of the sound of salsa since his beginnings, in the mid-60s, and as part of the “Fania All-Star” record company, honored our Upper School students with a very special visit where he spoke about his beginning as a musician and what has inspired and still inspires him today musically! He was affectionately introduced by his granddaughters Mirella ’22 and Marla ’24. Thank you Mr. Valentín!
