Forming good study habits

Bulls Pride Shout Out to Alanna Ríos '23 on following through with the implementation of her 10th grade personal project in a way that gives back to Baldwin by helping our 6th-grade students form good study habits! Junior Alanna Rios is currently involved in a service project where several times a week during the exploratory period, she shares with 6th-grade students how to succeed in school. For her 10th grade project last year, Alanna created eight videos from her research that focused on five areas for building study skills. During this semester, Alanna has put her project to the test by teaching time management, note-taking, study skills, study environment, preventing procrastination, and following the study cycle to the youngest students of the MUS.
"By presenting these guidelines, through a series of strategies, to the middle schoolers, they will develop a strong base of organization and structure to form a balanced life throughout high school and the rest of their lives. Additionally, by obtaining a balance between academic and personal life, students are more likely to have stronger mental health," she explained.
