With great Bulls Pride we are honored to share that our seniors, Javier Nazario-Sánchez and Justina Álvarez-Zoldi, of the Class of 2022, have been named Semi-Finalists of the 2022 U.S. Presidential Scholars Program, which represents the most distinguished graduating high school seniors. Javier and Justina are 2 of the 10 semifinalists from Puerto Rico to reach this stage and among 620 semifinalists out of an initial pool of 5,000 nominees and 3.7 million high school students.

The U.S. Department of Education will announce the Scholars in May. Each year up to 161 students are named Presidential Scholars, one of the nation's highest honors for high school students. Traditionally one male and one female Scholar are chosen from each state, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and U.S. citizens living abroad.
