We are excited to announce that our Baldwin Bulls Investment Team is a Semifinalist in the 2022-2023 Wharton Global High School Investment Competition. Our team, the Baldwin Bulls, was one of the Top 55 teams out of the nearly 1,400 final reports in the competition, and the only one from Puerto Rico and Latin America (a total of 64 countries represented)!
The Investment Team, advised by Valentina Rizzo, is comprised of Chili Pramoda '24 (captain), Alonso Abreu '24, Sofia Perez '24, Camelia del Toro '25, Shanti Issac '26 and Dolly Pramoda '26. The judges were impressed by the strength of their investing knowledge, creativity and teamwork, and we are proud of our team’s excellent achievement!
Teams examine a case study featuring a potential client and were tasked with working collaboratively to meet that client’s long-term investment goals as they tried to win his or her business. Equipped with an approved stock list (a selection of domestic and international equities) and the Wharton Investment Simulator (WInS), which allows them to buy and sell stocks, over the course of 10 weeks students develop an investment strategy, analyze industries and companies, and build a portfolio using $100,000 in virtual cash. Currently the Baldwin Bulls Investment Team is working on their next deliverable for the competition, and the top TWO teams from each of the 5 sections will advance to the Wharton Global Finale on April 22, 2023.
