As November 1st marks both Dia de los Muertos and the deadline for early action college applications, it’s a fitting time to celebrate the perseverance, dreams, and journeys of Baldwin seniors preparing for college. Dia de los Muertos, a Mexican tradition that honors the lives and memories of loved ones who have passed, also teaches us the power of remembering where we come from, what we value, and the dreams we carry forward—values that resonate with the college application journey.
In these past few days, the College Counseling Office at Baldwin has been hard at work supporting seniors in wrapping up their early action applications. Much like Dia de los Muertos celebrates the legacies of those who came before us, Celeste and Jocsan honor each student's unique path, helping them reflect on their achievements, family roots, and the goals that drive them. From guiding students through essays to supporting last-minute edits, our College Counseling Office ensures every application reflects the very best of each Baldwin student.
Dia de los Muertos reminds us that growth, memory, and tradition are beautifully intertwined. At Baldwin, our college-bound seniors add to the school’s legacy with each milestone and acceptance letter. As they hit "submit" this November 1st, we celebrate both the journeys they’ve taken and the future they’re building—guided by Baldwin’s values, fueled by their dreams, and sprinkled with a little Baldwin magic. The college application journey is one of both challenge and excitement, where students reflect on their achievements and aspirations.
To our Baldwin seniors: may your applications go off with a flourish, and may this season bring the beginnings of a bright new chapter worth remembering.
