6th grade Science students participate in RiverXchange program

As part of their Science course, 6th graders have been participating in the RiverXchange program. The RiverXchange is a year-long program that connects students around the world to learn about water resources. The 6th grade students have contributed by becoming “high tech pen pals” with other students from around the world. Students have collected and analyzed data from the different water resources we have available, including that of our Science Trail. We are now in the process of sharing our findings.

This project encourages our students to become global citizens. They are achieving this by inquiring, developing scientific investigations, collecting and communicating about their data with the proper use of the scientific language. In this way they develop international mindedness as they share and learn across borders and become aware of the complexity of our world and our relationships to each other. This has been a great opportunity for students to become globally engaged.
