Hello! My Name Is...

How long you worked at Baldwin?

It has been a fun and intense 1.5 years

Hobbies?

I'm passionate about teaching and working with the youth at my church.

If you could have anyone as your teacher, who would you pick?

It would be the teacher of teachers. Known for delivering his lessons in parables, only the people who were ready to receive the teachings could understand and apply them.

Where did you grow up?

I grew up in the beautiful "Capital of the Sun" that is Luquillo

Have you lived in any other countries?

I've been blessed with a few opportunities to go elsewhere, but in the end, or at least for right now, Borinquen will remain my one and only home, with Baldwin as one of the reasons why.

Tell us something about yourself that most people don’t know.

I love spearfishing! The beauty of: the water and its creatures, the peace and quiet of being alone with your thoughts for hours and the adrenaline of a catch. Also the bond that's created with people after spending the day against the unforgiving sea, is something special. There is also the bonus of eating the freshest that the sea has to offer.

Name one thing on your bucket list.

Finishing my album. The more that I do, the more I want to change. (which is not good practice)

Who inspires you?

My mother is my biggest inspiration. Raising 4 kids while working at least 3 jobs for most of her life is pretty inspirational. All this while still having time to take us to tennis, swimming, chess, table tennis and other extracurricular activities.

What do you like about your job?

I love getting here early in the morning and after spending 1 1/2 hours in traffic, I see the sun glimpsing through the trees and children waiting for me in front of the classroom with a hug, a smile and a "Good morning Mr. Emanuel". That sets the tone of the day for me.

What's your favorite thing to do in Puerto Rico?

One of my favorite things is exploring Puerto Rico's natural wonders with friends. Going to hidden beaches and rivers that are off the beaten path and finding those hidden gems.

What are your top five personal values?

I try to live my life:
1. Being thankful (helps with happiness)
2. Integrity (no lies and no excuses, even when you think they help)
3. Humility (not thinking to highly on past success, keep moving forward)
4. Faith (a little goes a long way)
5. Love (you could have everything and without love it's all for nothing).

What would you sing at Karaoke night?

You probably wouldn't want to give me the mic, because it would be a little hard getting it back.

Anything else you would like to share?

I would like to express my gratitude to the Baldwin community. I have learned a lot in my time here and I'm not done learning.
