Middle Upper School
Learning is an ongoing activity that continues throughout a student's lifetime. Therefore, education should promote independent thinking, inquiry, and reflection as life-long processes. The heart and soul of Baldwin's Middle/Upper School program is to foster these skills in our students.
In the IB Middle Years Program (grades 6-10) we offer a comprehensive curriculum that includes five core courses, as well a variety of electives, such as, health and physical education, fine arts, and design technology offerings. We also place a special emphasis in our language program, which includes English and Spanish for all students, and French as a third language alternative.
For our eleventh and twelfth grade Diploma Program students we provide an opportunity for them to focus on their strengths and interests, allowing our students to customize their program of study by choosing courses from six subject areas and to explore their passions through our Extended Essay and Creativity, Activity and Service components. With the support of a passionate and experienced faculty, students are able to pursue a course of study that is both challenging and engaging.
The Middle/Upper School is a supportive and nurturing environment where students feel confident, assertive, and ready to actively engage in their world. Upon graduation from Baldwin School, our students are fully prepared to successfully take their place among the best and the finest at the college or university of their choice. Baldwin students aspire to achieve their fullest human potential and leave their individual marks upon the world.
Thank you for visiting our school website and I hope you will plan a visit to our vibrant campus soon. It would be a pleasure to welcome you to our community and show you in person why we are so excited about the unique learning environment at Baldwin.
